Overview: Located in the House of Hospitality in historic Balboa Park, The Prado offers a unique and flexible alternative to the sometimes-sterile venues in the downtown area. Its unique architecture, artwork, sculpture, floral gardens and Spanish fountains will bring a special ambiance to any event that you might be planning. Built for the Panama-California exposition in 1915-16, The Prado has been painstakingly restored to the grandeur that it once commanded. It was the first building of its time to use the Spanish Colonial style of architecture in the United States, and the elegance and style of that era can be enjoyed once more to make any event you might be considering special.

Facilities: The facilities here consist of three main rooms, the Alhambra, Loggia and The Grand Ballroom.
Located on the second floor, the Alhambra accommodates 50 guests in a seated configuration, offering your guests the opportunity to enjoy the open beam ceilings and French doors. Your guests will enjoy views of the Casa Del Ray Moro Gardens and of the city from the attached covered outdoor balcony. Also located on the second floor and overlooking the parks Plaza de Panama, the Loggia room will accommodate up to 110 guests in a seated configuration and up to 60 additional guests on the two adjoining rooftop terraces that are located on each side of the room. With views of the interior courtyard below, this room offers a warm and elegant event option.
On the ground floor is the Grand Ballroom, and at 5,000 square feet is the largest of the three external venues here. The Abbey

Overview: Built as the Park Place Methodist Episcopal Church in 1910, The Abbey is the only Classic revival structure still in existence in San Diego. On the weekends the venue functions as a high-energy dance club, complete with computerized light show and 90,000 watt sound system. Offering three music formats including house, hip-hop, and 70’s/80’s, everyone is sure to be entertained.

Facilities: The Zen Café within On Broadway is open serving Pacific Rim cuisine and contemporary sushi delicacies. On other nights, the venue is available for private events ranging from weddings to meetings to sit-down dinners and large corporate parties. The venue is capable of hosting groups of 25 to 2,000 people.
